Costa Blanca Properties For Sale

The Costa Blanca stretches a little over 200 km down the middle of Spain’s east coast. Situated between the Costa Azahar and the Costa Calida, the Costa Blanca (White Coast) has fabulous white sandy beaches and plenty of activities for tourists, which of course can also be enjoyed by residents. The great weather, beautiful landscapes, and abundance of attractions make the Costa Blanca one of Europe's most greatly visited areas, particularly during the summer months.

Popular Costa Blanca Towns

Benidorm

Even before the hugely popular ITV series “Benidorm” hit our television screens, Benidorm was a resort that for many reasons had achieved world-wide fame. Unlike many resorts in Spain where urban growth is controlled, Benidorm has an abundance of skyscrapers, and is home to the highest hotel in Europe. It was the first resort in Spain to offer package holidays, and the vision of 1950’s mayor Pedro Zaragoza to turn the sleepy fishing village of Benidorm (meaning good sleep!) into a lively tourist town, has certainly been realised. Nowadays, Benidorm attracts more than five million visitors annually, and is a favourite destination for expats of both retirement and working age.

Javea

One of the interesting facts about the charming resort of Javea in the Costa Blanca North region is more than half the town’s registered inhabitants are foreign; a large number of which are from the UK. Unlike Benidorm, Javea town planners have carefully controlled growth within the resort and the town has relatively few hotels compared to other Spanish resorts. In spite of this, the beautifully-kept Arenal beach, world-class restaurants and fabulous climate make Javea a very-well visited town in the summer, and an enjoyable resort with plenty to enjoy for both expats and visitors in the winter.

Torrevieja

Located in the southern part of the Costa Blanca, 111 km south of Benidorm, Torrevieja is a relatively large resort with a population of around 92,000. The resort’s notable features include an extremely long sandy beach, cheap property prices, plenty of attractions and a lively nightlife, Torrevieja is another resort that’s achieved great popularity with expats, and a recent survey found more than 200 clubs and societies catering to the town’s foreign residents exist in Torrevieja. While the majority of Torrevieja expats are retirees, it is also a destination popular with young families, and there are two international schools in the town operating under the British curriculum.

Climate

The Costa Blanca is said to have one of the healthiest climates in the world, which makes it a very attractive destination for those looking to relocate from the more northern European countries. Javea for example, enjoys about 320 days of sunshine each year. Temperatures average about 14C during the winter months and expect many days of 27C plus during the summer months.

Accessibility

The Costa Blanca is extremely accessible with plenty of flights going to and from the UK every day. Depending on if you live in the north or south of the Costa Blanca, you can choose between Alicante, Valencia, and the San Javier airport of Murcia. Due to their popularity with tourists, most of the Costa Blanca resorts are also served well by airport transfer companies, meaning you do not have to worry about driving to the airport or leaving your car there while you are away.
